The Performance Project - Professional Team Development

About The Performance Project

The Performance Project was founded by Sally Vickers and Bob McCarthy.

Sally L. Vickers

Sally Vickers is a Certified Kolbe Consultant™ who specializes in the Kolbe Concept™ to build effective teams.  The Kolbe team management software benefits teams by identifying each team member’s unchanging, natural creative strengths. Other "team building" programs, such as feel-good seminars and motivational speakers, may offer an immediate morale boost but often leave nothing of lasting value. Personality tests, interest inventories, and other employee assessment methods are equally unpredictable because they measure volatile factors such as emotions and social styles.

Sally brings to The Performance Project, Kolbe tools that enhance a team’s ability to build on individual strengths and improve overall team performance and synergy.  Participants of the team project learn positive strategies for trading off individual strengths, taking advantage of individual differences and making the most of knowing who can be counted on to perform necessary tasks.

Bob McCarthy

Bob McCarthy, M.A., is a consultant in marketing communications and public relations. An award winning writer, his articles have been published in regional, national and international business magazines, including Yankee and World Trade magazines. He has written and/or produced collateral materials, video scripts, television commercials and web content with a specific emphasis on developing a coherent message for the designated target markets.  He has served on the adjunct staff of community and four years colleges and lectured at the Eisenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is the editor of a regional business-to-business magazine and is active in regional business networking organizations.

Program Management

Since 2003, Bob McCarthy and Sally Vickers have collaborated on developing programs for team development. At that time, they were commissioned by an Internet-based company to develop a program for virtual teams comprised of independent distributors nationwide. For two years they created a viable system for team training and accountability. The success of that program set the stage of the development of The Performance Project.  Both also served on various product development, training and support task forces.
